Revo In-car Trouble Shooting

Below is a table of some possible problems which you may encounter while using or installing Revo. The list is not exhaustive, so should you be experiencing any problems which are not covered in the table, then please e-mail us at info@myrevo.ch, using the form on the Technical Support Page.

Problem Cause Solution
Unit not turning on.

No power.

Make sure ignition is turned on and that Revo is positioned properly in the cradle.

Installation problem.

Make sure install has been done properly and that Revo is connected to the car's 12 volt supply.

Cannot pick up any stations. Problem with connection. Ensure the aerial connection to Revo's cradle is in place, re-positioning the aerial if necessary.

Stations in station list have a '?' beside them. When I try and select one, no station is found. Need to perform a scan. You need to do a scan to pick up the new stations for the area you are in. If you hold the scan button down for about three seconds, this will allow you to carry out a long scan. This will remove any stations from the list which can no longer be received, and pick up any new stations and add them to your list.

Revo appears to be working, however, no sound can be heard from my cars speakers. Need to tune to Revo's frequency. You need to tune your car stereo to the frequency 87.7Mhz to pick up Revo through your car stereo. If you allocate this frequency to one of the stereo presets, then you can easily access Revo without having to retune each time.

When I turn off the ignition and remove my car key, my Revo stays switched on.

Installation problem.

The Revo is wired to the cars constant live circuit; this runs a risk of draining the cars battery. Revo should be powered from the cars ignition switched live.

The signal level on my Revo is very variable, with the signal dropping out a lot. Signals unable to pass through windscreen. Your car may have a heated or athermic heat-reflecting windscreen. In this case, the antenna needs to be run to the back windscreen or alternatively an external antenna can be used.

Installation problem.

Another reason for this problem could be the positioning of the antenna. It needs to be situated at least 5 cm away from the pillar at the passenger side. It can certainly never be installed inside the pillar as this will seriously affect the signal level achieved by the antenna.

Coverage problems.

The third reason may be down to the coverage in your area and whether you are listening to national or local stations. In this case an external or powered antenna may be required.

I have a high signal strength on my Revo but there is still interference Breakthrough from local broadcast. Adjust the dip-switches on the Revo Modulator to change the operating frequency.

I cannot tune into FM stations. FM antenna is not connected. Attach the FM antenna to the input on the FM modulator.
Modulator is not connected to 12V supply. Connect the Revo modulator power to the same ignition switched supply that Revo is connected to.
